This visa exemption policy stands as a significant achievement, marking one of the key initiatives commemorating the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Mongolia. This significant diplomatic development positions Mongolia as the 26th nation to benefit from Vietnam's visa exemption policy for its citizens. Joining the ranks alongside countries such as Brunei, Myanmar, Belarus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Norway, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, the UK, the Philippines, Cambodia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Chile, and Panama, Mongolia now enjoys a streamlined entry process into Vietnam.

During the State visit to Vietnam, the President of Mongolia also participated in a ceremony announcing the inauguration of a direct flight route connecting Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa), Vietnam, and Ulan Bator, the capital of Mongolia. Operated by the Vietnamese airline Vietjet, this route is scheduled to commence on December 15, 2023, with an initial frequency of two round-trip flights per week.
